ITINERARY
Arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport and transfer to Arusha. Meet your guides for a briefing and gear check. Overnight in a hotel in Arusha.
Drive from Arusha to Momella Gate. Begin your trek through the lush forest to Miriakamba Hut. Elevation: 1,500m to 2,514m Distance: 10 km Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Trek through the forest and heather zones to Saddle Hut. Elevation: 2,514m to 3,570m Distance: 8 km Hiking Time: 4-5 hours
Start the summit attempt early in the morning. Reach the summit of Mount Meru, then descend back to Miriakamba Hut. Elevation: 3,570m to 4,566m (Summit), then down to 2,514m Distance: 5 km ascent, 13 km descent Hiking Time: 10-12 hours
Descend from Miriakamba Hut to Momella Gate. Transfer back to Arusha for departure. Elevation: 2,514m to 1,500m Distance: 10 km Hiking Time: 2-3 hours
