Sikles Trek is a relatively fresh trail that offers a wonderful view of landscapes and the cultural beauty of the Annapurna region that starts from Pokhara. The trek begins with a road journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara. It takes you through dense forests, agricultural lands, and typical Gurung villages such as Ghale Kharka, Sikles village, and Yangjakot. Tara Hilltop with its breathtaking view of the Himalayas will be followed by the descent to Kalikasthan and Begnas Lake and the final hike ends with a picturesque drive back to Pokhara and Kathmandu. This trek is for those wishing to have a moderate trekking experience, community interaction, and beautiful Himalayan views.
ITINERARY
Set out on a scenic journey from Kathmandu to Pokhara, soaking in the changing landscapes of Nepal. You will traverse from the bustling capital city to the serene lakeside town nestled at the foothills of the Himalayas.
From Pokhara, it will take you almost an hour’s drive to reach the starting point of the trek at Ghale Kharka through Bhurjung Khola. The trail covers the greenery of the forests and the eye-soothing sceneries of the landscape as well as the glimpse of the village and hills.
Visit the Tara Hilltop and consider taking a ride to the top at 2,850 meters to enjoy the stunning vistas. Take leisurely walks along the quiet trails through the rhododendron extension and the serenity of the hillock that forms the extension of the great Himalayas.
Sikles Village is an adorable Gurung village located at the altitude of 1,980mtr above sea level. Stroll through the fields with a sloping landscape and engage in conversation with the inhabitants to understand their daily routines as part of the setting in the mountains.
This area is still ideal for camping and hiking and you can proceed to Yangjakot and experience the serenity and the splendid view. The trail has a view where tourists can enjoy the beauty of the Annapurna range, and the chirping of birds and animals can also be heard.
Visit Kalikasthan, a village famous for its striking position and calmness and the stunning view of the Pokhara Valley. Stroll through some of the rice terraces and small villages being an essential part of the countryside of Nepal.
Head down to Begnas Lake, which is one of the calmest areas, and then proceed to have a ride back to Pokhara. Relive your trekking experiences as you enjoy the serene and unspoiled surroundings of this tranquil lake set in green rolling slopes.
Sikles Trek is accomplished with the drive back to Kathmandu from Pokhara with the memories of the journey and the breathtaking views of the landscapes that one comes across during the trek. As you reflect on your trekking adventure, the breathtaking vistas and cultural encounters will continue to inspire and enrich your travel experiences for years to come.
