The journey begins in Paro, followed by a drive to Thimphu, the capital, where you will see the majestic Buddha Dordenma and visit Simply Bhutan, a living museum showcasing the local heritage. The tour continues to the subtropical Punakha Valley, where you will cross the Dochula Pass to witness the stunning Punakha Dzong. The final leg of the trip involves returning to Paro to explore the National Museum and Paro Rinpung Dzong before embarking on the iconic and rewarding hike to the Tiger's Nest Monastery, the spiritual highlight of the tour. ITINERARY
Program: Warm welcome by our representative at Paro International Airport. En route, visit Tachog Lhakhang Bridge, Bhutan’s first iron chain bridge built by the 15th-century saint Thangtong Gyalpo. Visit Zilukha Nunnery – a serene monastic residence overlooking Thimphu valley. Explore Bhutan Postal Museum – where guests can create personalized stamps. Stroll around Thimphu Clock Tower Square, explore handicraft shops, and enjoy the local café culture. Evening view of Tashichho Dzong (Thimphu Dzong) beautifully illuminated. Overnight: Thimphu Note the program is subject to the arrival flight time.
Program: Drive to Punakha via the scenic Dochula Pass (3,150 m), with its 108 memorial chortens and panoramic Himalayan views. Visit Chimi Lhakhang (Temple of Fertility) – a revered temple associated with Lama Drukpa Kunley, known as the Divine Madman. Visit the majestic Punakha Dzong, the “Palace of Great Happiness,” built in 1637 at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. Optional: Enjoy white-water rafting on the Mo Chhu River (gentle Class I–II rapids). Walk across Bhutan’s longest suspension bridge, adorned with fluttering prayer flags and scenic views. Return to Thimphu by evening. Overnight: Thimphu
Program: Visit Buddha Dordenma (Buddha Point) – one of the world’s tallest Buddha statues with a spectacular valley view. Option 1 – Haa Valley Excursion: Distance: 106 km (one way) | Altitude: 3,050 m (Haa) Early morning drive through Chele La Pass (3,988 m) – Bhutan’s highest motorable pass, offering magnificent views of Mt. Jomolhari. Stop at the pass to enjoy the crisp mountain air and take scenic photos among colorful prayer flags. Descend to Haa Valley, one of Bhutan’s least-explored regions known for its pristine landscapes and rustic villages. Visit Lhakhang Karpo (White Temple) and Lhakhang Nagpo (Black Temple) – both dating back to the 7th century. Return to Paro in the late afternoon. Option 2 – Tiger’s Nest Hike (Taktsang Monastery): Embark on a hike (5–6 hours round trip) to the iconic Tiger’s Nest Monastery (3,120 m), clinging dramatically to a cliff. Learn about the legend of Guru Rinpoche who flew here on a tigress to meditate. Return to Paro and unwind with a traditional hot stone bath (optional). Evening stroll around Paro town for shopping and photography. Overnight: Paro
Program: After breakfast, visit Paro Rinpung Dzong – the “Fortress of the Heap of Jewels.” Explore National Museum (Ta Dzong), showcasing ancient Bhutanese art and artifacts.
