ITINERARY
Pick up from Khiva hotel at 8:00. Meet your bus driver and transfer to Shavat/Dashoguz border by 9:00. Complete departure formalities on Uzbekistan border. There will be 1 shuttle transfers between Uzbekistan - Uzbekistan border, the cost of the transfer is $1 per person, paid by the travelers. Meet your guide in Turkmenistan border and complete border crossing formalities. Optional lunch stop in Dashoguz, at your expenses. Drive to Kunya Urgench (UNESCO), an ancient city othat was a major center of international trade and crafts on the Silk Road. Upon arrival to Kunya Urgench we will have a lunch break before KU sightseeing. After lunch we will visit the historical city Kunya Urgench (UNESCO World Heritage Site) – once a glorious capital of the medieval Khorezshah Empire, the biggest Muslim empire of the late 12 and early 13 centuries. • We will take a close look at the outstanding 14-century mausoleum of Turabek Hanum, one of the best examples of the architecture of its period; • the minaret of Kutlug Timur, a former highest minaret of Central Asia that used to form a part of the main cathedral mosque of the city; • the mausoleum of Sultan Tekesh, a beautiful 12-century mausoleum with one of the earliest portals of the east and a unique cone of a dome; • Kyrk-Mollah mound, the fabled al-Mamun’s Academy of Sciences; the mausoleum of Il-Arslan; Najmeddin Kubra and Piryar Wali shrines. Continuedrive to Darvaza crater. Exploration of the site and dinner at sunset, delicious BBQ. Overnight in yurts.
After breakfast in Darvaza drive to Ashgabat via 2 smaller craters: water and mud. Explore beautiful sand dunes on the way to Ashgabat. Upon arrival check in to the hotel. After lunch start exploring Ashgabat. Visits: Old Nisa (UNESCO),Magtymguly Monument and Park, Monument of Neutrality, National Museum, Independency Monument, Ruhnama Book Monument before dinner time. Night city tour after dinner, Olympic City in Ashgabat, Bagt Koshgi-Wedding Palace, and Alem Ferris Wheel. Return to the hotel for overnight.
Breakfast at the hotel drive to Gokdepe village - last battle field between Turkmen Teke tribe and Russian Empire in 19th century. Visit the Arkadash stud farm: ride, feed and take pictures with unique Turkmen Akhal-teke horses. Return to Ashgabat and visit Memorial Complex. Continue to a walking tour in older part of the city: Ashgabat park, Lenin square, and Russian bazaar. Early dinner and transfer to Ashgabat train station for an evening train to Dashoguz, departing at 19:05. Overnight in train.
07:51 AM arrive to Dashoguz train station. Meet your bus driver and transfer to Dashoguz/Shavat border. Your guide will assist you with border crossing on Turkmenistan side. Use 1 shuttle transfer to get to Uzbekistan border. The cost of transfer between borders is $1, paid by the traveler. Complete border crossing formalities at Uzbekistan border. Meet your bus driver and transfer to Urgench train station. End of services!
